Family Support Fund
Income-eligible families can receive financial help for respite care and unmet medical expenses for children.

Get Financial Help for Your Family
If your family has a child (up to age 21) with special health needs and meets income guidelines, the Family Support Fund is here to offer financial assistance. We know that raising a child with special needs can come with extra expenses, and this fund helps with both self-identified respite needs and unmet medically necessary costs. Respite is a planned break that allows parents and caregivers time to rest and recharge. While this is a fund of last resort—meaning we encourage checking other resources first—you can request up to $600 initially for respite and up to $1,200 for things like equipment, travel, or therapy. The combined maximum per family is $1,200 annually. To learn more about eligibility or to apply, please contact Diane Bugbee at Diane.Bugbee@vtfn.org or call 802-876-5315.
