Ways to Volunteer
There are many ways to get involved with Vermont Family Network, depending on your interests, availability, and experience. Some opportunities are ongoing, while others are project-based or seasonal. All make a meaningful difference for children, youth, and families.
Options
Parent Match Program – Offer one-on-one peer support by listening and sharing your experience with another parent who requests a match. This role is ideal for parents who feel ready to support others on their journey.
Family Faculty Program – Share your family’s story with future professionals to help teach family-centered care. This opportunity is open to caregivers of children with disabilities or special health needs who want to contribute through storytelling and education.
Exhibit Tables & Community Outreach – Help spread the word about VFN by hosting or supporting an information table at local events such as school nights or community resource fairs.
SibShops Support – Assist with SibShops, which are fun, supportive gatherings for siblings of children with disabilities or special health needs. Adults and high school students can help facilitators with activities and logistics.
Board of Directors – Serve in a leadership role by joining VFN’s Board of Directors. Board members include parents and professionals and commit to a three-year term.
Special Projects Office Support – Provide short-term assistance with projects at our Williston office when extra help is needed.
Volunteer Puppeteer (Puppets in Education) – Support the Puppets in Education program as a volunteer puppeteer. Training is provided, and opportunities arise as program needs allow.
