Share Your Story

Your voice matters, and your story can help shape a better future for Vermont families.

the Power of Sharing your Experience

Personal stories are a powerful form of advocacy. They help create shared understanding, celebrate successes, and shine a light on the real challenges families face every day. Stories bring policies to life. They can show what’s working, what isn’t, and why change matters.
Vermont Family Network uses family stories to help educate communities, inform decision-makers, and demonstrate the impact of our work. With your permission, stories may be shared in marketing materials, on social media, or included in grant reports to help funders and partners better understand the experiences of the families we serve.

We are always honored to gather stories from families we’ve had the privilege to work with. If you’re interested in sharing your story, contact info@vtfn.org or 802-876-5315. A Family Support consultant can interview you and draft your story for your review, or you may choose to submit your story using our online form. With your consent, stories may also be shared through partner organizations such as the Vermont Coalition for Disability Rights or the Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance.

The impact of our work is felt by families every day.

Raising a child with a disability, particularly one that is often invisible, can be a lonely journey. Because Family Support staff all have personal experience raising a child with special needs, they are particularly well equipped to offer that perfect balance of listening and offering specific guidance and support. VFN has helped us not feel alone.
